You probably have a lot of questions as you plan and prepare for your big day!
Here are some answers to some common questions we get asked. We hope this helps!
How long will the ceremony be?
There is no set time but the average is about 20 minutes. We will work with you to create something that will keep everyone engaged, carrying the meaning you desire your ceremony to have. Everyone is different, so you could choose to do something shorter or longer – it's your call!
What will be said at our wedding?
We will work with you to create a personalized, custom ceremony that best reflects who you are as a couple. We do have some scripts we can use, but your ceremony isn’t complete until we get the “thumbs up” from you.
How soon should we book an officiant?
The sooner the better. We book up really fast - so once you have nailed down a date and confirmed your venue, it's best to check 'officiant' off your list. Of course, we will always do out best to accommodate any last minute requests.
What do we need to make it legal in Alberta?
Firstly, you need to find the right wedding officiant for you. Next, you will need to pick up a marriage license at any Alberta Registry office. It’s good for 90 days, however, we do recommend picking it up approximately one month before your ceremony date. After the ceremony, the officiant will submit the marriage licence portion within 2 days of the wedding. And then, it’s a done deal!

How do we get a copy of the Marriage certificate?
In order to get a copy of the official marriage certificate after the ceremony, you will need to purchase it from an Alberta Registry office or through Registry Connect. We will provide you with a "Proof of Marriage" certificate on the day of your big day.
What time will you arrive on the day of the wedding?
Your officiant will arrive 20-30 minutes before the beginning of your ceremony.
What does the Officiant wear?
We promise to always look our best for your wedding ceremony. That means: a suit. We are definitely open to chatting about any ideas you may have. If there is a particular dress code or theme, feel free to let us know.
How and when do we pay you?
We accept cash, cheque or an e-Transfer (sent to email@example.com). A deposit of $200 is due at the time of booking in order to secure your date and time. The balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding date.
